Anthony McCall @ Ambika P3

Finally managed to get to Ambika P3 to see Anthony McCall's exhibition of vertical works. Although perhaps not quite as affective as his last exhibition at the Serpentine (needed more smoke), it's testament to the power of his works that the pieces were still utterly captivating. It's just breathtaking how something so simple as the combination of a projector and a hazer could create an atmosphere so sensorially overwhelming.

Of particular interest was the maquette demonstrating the concept for an installation called Column, due to be built in Merseyside for the Olympics;

Extra props go to the exhibition organisers for being brave enough to keep the ambient light levels so low. Health & safety, schmelth & schmafety.

  1. the one bit that shocked me was the eye adaptation warning followed by a retail level lit exhibition foyer + shop.

    lol @ health and safety.
