Of particular interest is the work of Stanley Milgram, who carried out some pretty intense experiments in the field of society and obedience. Although ethically questionable in content and execution, they nevertheless present some interesting observations on the way we interact with our surroundings and those around us.

The Brain: A Secret History
If you're at all interested in the way that our brains are wired and some of the more clandestine experiments that have been carried out to give us this insight, I highly recommend watching Dr Michael Mosley's series
