Wikipedia 10th Anniversary installation - Flat Earth

Dean McNamee and I have just completed a temporary installation to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of Wikipedia, titled "Flat Earth". 18 suspended label printers print out live edits as they are made to Wikipedia, which gently fall to the ground to create a visual indication of exactly how heavily used the site is. A full write-up will follow on my main website as soon as we've gone through all of the footage, but in the meantime here are a few tasters;

A quick set-up montage, to fill the gap until the proper footage is sorted;

And a small mention on Radio 4 (sorry Dean). About 39 minutes in here

some small print;

This installation was realised with the kind support of:

Wikipedia
Labelzone
Brother
Halo

It was inspired in part by the work of Tom Taylor and Wieden + Kennedy.

As thermal paper can’t yet be recycled, we’ve instead sponsored the planting one new tree for every printer we used.

Proper write-up to come in the next few days...
